Danpal sold to Vestjysk Træemballage with Norwegian Daimyo behind it

18. December 2023

Danpal has been sold to Vestjysk Træemballage, which is in the process of developing a Nordic group in wood packaging with the backing of the Norwegian investment company Daimyo.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest August 2020, Invest became a co-owner of Danpal, which with production in Karlslunde, Faxe and Vamdrup is a nationwide supplier of wooden pallets in Denmark. Danpal are experts in the production of special pallets and recycling of European pallets with a large number of large Danish companies as customers. Danpal specializes in optimizing pallet solutions so that, among other things, the reuse of wooden pallets is increased and environmental and climate impact is minimized, and at the same time, Danpal is a very socially responsible company, where currently 7 out of the 41 employees are from the edge of the labor market, just as the company helps vulnerable unemployed people through work trials, internships, etc.

In recent years, Danpal has undergone a great development driven by a very competent management team, including expansion of sales capacity, development of service concepts and a significant boost to the company’s ESG work, especially in the climate area, where the company is at the forefront of its market and, not least, the development and scaling of the company’s social efforts. In recent years, Danpal has also generated the best financial results in the company’s history so far. Vestjysk Træemballage is a good match on the further growth journey, both because of synergies and larger scale and because Vestjysk Træemballage has bought into and shares the values and ambitions within social and environmental behaviour that Danpal stands for.

Vestjysk Træemballage is owned by CEOs Carsten Lund and Kurt Fiskbæk as well as the Norwegian investment company Daimyo, which focuses on sustainable companies. The new owners want to continue the socially and environmentally ambitious line that Danpal stands for, and the management and employees of Danpal will continue in the group.

At Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest, we thank the management for a very good collaboration with CEO Christian Lisberg at the helm, and we look forward to following the company in the future.
