The award is given with the following reason:
Energy for Each Other receives this year’s Social Stardust Award for taking young people’s needs and wishes as a starting point and using new methods when guiding young people on their way to jobs and education. In doing so, they show an inspiring approach to one of society’s major challenges
Energy for Each Other was a development project in collaboration between Esbjerg Municipality, the Social Development Centre (SUS) and Den Sociale Kapitalfond with support from the Lauritzen Foundation, which was to ensure development within three tracks: 1. A track that is targeted at vulnerable young people in the age group 16-27 years. Here, the main focus was that the young people themselves help to find their way to a job or education. 2. A track aimed at developing the Job Centre’s methods in relation to the meeting with young people. 3. A track aimed at local companies through accelerator courses facilitated by Den Sociale Kapitalfond. At the same time, the project analysed how the experiences could form the basis for social investments that save the municipality money and create social effects for selected groups in society.
