Den Sociale Kapitalfond udvikler nye former for sociale investeringer og udbreder de bedste af dem i stor skala, så de bliver en naturlig del af markedet og samfundsøkonomien.

About Den Sociale Kapitalfond

Den Sociale Kapitalfond invests capital and skills in companies and organisations which help solve social problems. When they grow, we can help more people and secure financial returns.

There is a need for both social and financial innovation. For example, up to 300,000 Danes are far removed from the labour market and 7-8% of a year group of young people are neither in a job nor education programme, while at the same time, paradoxically, companies are experiencing a shortage of labour.

Therefore, Den Sociale Kapitalfond develops new types of social investments, and deploys the best of them on a large scale so they become an integrated part of the market and the economy. We do this in partnerships with companies, the public sector, investors and others who want to develop our society in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond was set up by Trygfonden and Lars Jannick Johansen in 2011 and it is headed by a group of partners. We are driven by our determination to make a positive difference.

We want to demonstrate how social and financial success can go hand in hand. For the individual, the business, society and the world.

Following a number of pilot investments, Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest was established in 2017. The fund invests in small and medium-sized, primarily Danish companies with particular growth potential and potential to create new opportunities for vulnerable people or to develop marginalised local communities.  With its objective to both generate a return for investors and forge social growth, the fund is the first of its kind in Denmark.
