Social responsibility and sustainability policy

The aim of this policy is to ensure that Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest complies with internationally agreed principles of environmental, social and economic sustainability (ESG). This policy sets the framework for Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest's efforts for responsible corporate behaviour. Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest and portfolio companies also comply with the UN Global Compact initiative, which is 10 general principles for companies' work with social responsibility, and complies with PRI – Principles For Responsible Investment.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest is a specialized, value-driven and professional investor who seeks to generate attractive financial returns with positive social impact and strengthen positive effects as well as reduce any negative impacts on sustainability in general that our investments may have.

We have an investment policy that builds on our specific strategy to achieve attractive financial returns and positive social impact through our investments together with a policy of social responsibility and sustainability that helps us integrate risks of sustainable transition and comply with international goals and guidelines for environmental, social and economic sustainability (ESG) in general in our work. In addition, we have developed sustainability policies for our own operations as an investment management company. Together, these policies set the framework for Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest's efforts for responsible corporate behaviour.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest integrates social responsibility and sustainability into both our own operations and into our investments. We do this, among other things, by

  • Policies and guidelines for our own operations as an investment management company.
  • Our targeted investment policy as a specialised investment manager includes:
    • To invest exclusively in companies with particular potential for positive social impact in the society around them.
    • Integration of specific social effects, as well as environmental and governance sustainability issues, including special contributions to the realisation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, is part of our due diligence on possible investment topics.
    • In the light of this, specific social goals and measurement methods, as well as general environmental and governance sustainability conditions, including, among other things, compliance requirements for the UN Global Compact and contributions to selected UN Sustainable Development Goals, are integrated into our investment agreements.
    • Entering into active ownership and management in our investments, where compliance with the agreed social goals is monitored and and the development of environmental and governance sustainability conditions and continuously assessed. 
    • Continuous identification of risks of sustainable transition in our investments.
  • Development of good investment solutions in general to meet societal challenges as part of Den Sociale Kapitalfond Group.

GUIDELINES FOR SUSTAINABLE AND RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR 

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest undertakes to implement a management system in order to minimize negative impact on human rights, the environment and anti-corruption. In this context, all partners and managers of Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest have signed a manifesto containing the company's purpose and conduct included in the employment agreements. Policies have been developed on, among other things, the prevention of money laundering, capacity problems, insider trading and ensuring the correct handling of confidential material and data.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest is also working closely with our investments to spread high standards of sustainable and responsible behaviour.

We invest exclusively in companies with particular potential for positive social impact in the society around them, and its study is an important part of our study of possible investment topics, as well as its objectives and measurement are included in the investment agreements.

As part of our investment decision, they are also selected, for an investment relevant, UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to work with.

In addition, prior to the conclusion of investments, we examine, among other things, ESG conditions in general, possible improvements including in the environmental field, guidelines for anticorruption, etc.

In addition to the above objectives, requirements for compliance with the UN Global Compact, as well as general work with (industry-specific) ongoing sustainability, are included on this basis in Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest's investment agreements.

As active co-owners and board members, Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest continuously seeks to contribute to developing corporate efforts and reporting.

Negative list

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest has drawn up a negative list which aims to ensure that Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest avoids financing activities that are deemed unsustainable in the long term. Diversity and gender diversity

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest wants to promote diversity and gender diversity in the management and employee mix. It is Invest's ambition to ensure equal opportunities and conditions for applicants and employees regardless of gender, ethnic background, religion, nationality, sexual orientation and age. Following on from Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest’s policy on social responsibility and sustainability, a separate policy on diversity and gender diversity has been developed, which is available to Den Sociale Kapitalfond’s Invest employees.

Environmental and climate sustainability

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest wants to contribute to promoting the green transition and is committed to continuously implementing initiatives that can contribute to a smaller carbon footprint on climate and environment from Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest’s business, both for us, as an investment management company, and in our portfolio companies.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest has a separate climate policy targeted at our work as an investment management company, which is accessible to all employees.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest also actively seeks to influence the portfolio companies in a more climate- and environmentally sustainable direction based on the individual industry and company. Possible efforts and ways of doing this are part of each company's investment assessment, investment agreements and ongoing development.

Remuneration policy

At Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest, we follow the principle that the payment of special bonuses for successful investments is conditional on both financial and social objectives being achieved. In doing so, we seek to integrate sustainability risks into our wage policy.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond makes investments after an analysis and assessment of the ability of investment objects to live up to the social impact and the general sustainability conditions that Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest wishes to support.

Policy about the integration of sustainability risks

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest is continuously working to strengthen the integration of sustainability risks into our investment decisions, based, among other things, on the guidelines set out above.

We are currently awaiting the detailed technical standards and reporting requirements in this area from the supervisory authorities and are working in parallel to further develop our policy.
